How to download Facebook videos
Copy the link, paste it, choose HD or SD. Here is exactly how to do it on each device, plus fixes for common problems.
Copy the video link
On Facebook tap Share under the video and choose Copy link. On a computer, click the date of the post and copy the address bar.
Paste it above
Tap Paste or long-press the box, then tap Download.
Choose HD or SD
Pick MP4 · HD for the best quality or MP4 · SD for a smaller, faster file.
How to find the Facebook video link
- Mobile app: tap Share under the video, then Copy link. For Reels, tap the arrow icon, then Copy link.
- Browser: click the time stamp of the post (e.g. "3 h") to open the video on its own page, then copy the address bar.
- Links like
fb.watch/abc123,facebook.com/watch/?v=…,facebook.com/reel/…andfacebook.com/share/v/…all work.
On iPhone
- Copy the link in the Facebook app.
- Open Safari and go to fbvideodownload.net.
- Paste and tap Download, then MP4 · HD.
- Open Files › Downloads, tap the video, Share › Save Video.
On Android
Paste the link in Chrome on fbvideodownload.net, tap your quality, and find the MP4 in Downloads or your gallery.
On PC or Mac
Paste the link, click MP4 · HD and the file is saved in your Downloads folder.
Private videos and closed groups
Use the private video downloader and follow the page-source method. Never give your password to a downloader site.
Troubleshooting
- "We couldn't open this post": the video is not public, or was removed.
- Only SD appears: the uploader did not provide an HD version.
- Download opens in a new tab and plays: long-press (mobile) or right-click the button and choose Download linked file / Save link as.
